‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’ PS4 Server Migration Happening in March; Some Data Will Be Lost

Fans of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will notice a big change this March. No it’s not a new update, Bandai Namco is changing servers for PS4 users.

According to the official Bandai Namco site, the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 PS4 migration will happen on March 20 to add more room for new players and maintenance. This will also keep the game’s online performance consistent.

The Bandai Namco site does give some important information and answers questions Xenoverse 2 players may have about the server migration. Here are some of the highlights:

The current Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 server will not be closed. However, there will be no more update or online events on that server. From March 20, players will have a choice to select either “Original Conton City” - the old server - or “New Conton City” - new server. You can also choose to move between the two servers anytime.

If there won’t be any updates or online events, what will be in the old server? Crystal Raids, online matching, parallel quests and expert missions will remain available for those who don’t make the move. However, while Bandai Namco doesn’t have a date to close the old servers it is likely happening in the future so keep that in mind.

With the server migration, there will be some information that is lost in the move. The following data will be lost with the migration:

  • Unlimited Rank Match Point
  • Results of the Tenkaichi Tournament
  • Online Event Rankings
  • Present History
  • Presents remaining in the Time Service
  • Online Titles
  • Favorite List History
  • Players Met History

So if you want to keep your favorites and the names of the players you met online, jot them down to save them again when you move to the new server.

To compensate for losses, Bandai Namco will distribute 500 TP Medals to those who log into the new server between March 20 and April 20.

Again, this server migration will only affect PS4 players. But if you prefer to play offline you won’t need to migrate to the new server. You won’t have the choice after March 20 to choose which server.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available now for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
