Drake Booed Off Stage at Camp Flog Gnaw After Making Surprise Appearance

Drake surprised music fans at Tyler, the Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles Sunday night. But the rapper got a surprise of his own when the crowd promptly booed him and chanted that they wanted to see Frank Ocean instead.

In a clip posted to social media, the 33-year-old Canadian rapper can be heard saying, "Do you want me to keep going or not?" as revelers chant, "We want Frank." Drake then appears to end his set saying: "It's been love. I go by the name of Drake. Thank y'all for having me."

Tyler, the Creator did not announce the headliner for Sunday's bill beforehand, prompting fan speculation that the top act might be Frank Ocean. However, fans were apparently less than impressed when Tyler introduced Drake instead.

Another video posted to Twitter shows the crowd disappointed that there was no act after Drake, who appeared to have ended his set early.

Camp Flog Gnaw was held at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles and live-streamed on Twitch.

Fans on Twitter had some differing reactions to Drake being booed. Some users said that festival-goers should have been grateful Tyler, the Creator brought Drake to his festival, while others were more amused by the best-selling rapper being jeered off stage.

"DRAKE WAS F***ING LIT THANK YOU @tylerthecreator and F*** YOU to all the fans that booed Drake off. Bunch of ungrateful f***s ruined it not only for myself, but I'm sure for Drake and Tyler also because that man didn't even say bye and thanks like he always does," wrote one fan.

"never thought i'd see the day y'all wierdos would boo drake off the stage.. leave my mans alone he doesn't deserve this s***," another fan tweeted.

"Drake is one of Tyler's favorite artists ever, and he made a dream come true tonight by having him perform at HIS festival as a guest act. and people really had the f***ing nerve to boo him off. Entitled brats don't deserve anything," wrote another Twitter user.

Another tweet said: "Who boos off Drake... y'all built different. Ungrateful."

In addition to the outrage over Drake being booed, there were plenty of memes, too, making light of the situation.

Other artists who performed at Camp Flog Gnaw over the course of the two-day festival included Tyler, the Creator, Solange, Juice WRLD, Brockhampton, 21 Sabage, Blood Orange, H.E.R., FKA Twigs and Willow Smith.
