E3 2018: 'Sea of Solitude' Announced For EA Originals Label During EA Play

During Electronic Art's EA Play press conference for E3 2018, the developer announced a striking new title that's part of its EA Originals label: Sea of Solitude.

EA also shared a trailer showcasing the game's flooded world and stylized, terrifying monsters. You can check out the trailer below:

The game's summary on YouTube reads: " When humans get too lonely, they turn into monsters. That's what happened to Kay. But she's not alone – this ocean is full of creatures just like her. Finding them may be the key to changing her back."

Sea of Solitude is developed by Berlin game studio Jo-Mei. In Sea of Solitude , you play as Kay and are searching for the answers to how she transformed and how she can become human once more. With its theme of loneliness and its effect on people, and in the wake of high-profile suicides such as Kate Spate, Anthony Bourdain, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell and Robin Williams, Sea of Solitude feels particularly trenchant.

The look of Sea of Solitude is reminiscent of survival game The Flame in the Flood, while its incisive, personal theme evokes games like Inside, Journey, Firewatch or Ori and the Blind Forest.

Sea of Solitude was announced alongside fellow EA Originals title Unravel Two, which is out today. Sea of Solitude is scheduled for an early 2019 release.

How do you feel about Sea of Solitude? Does it seem like the kind of game you'd like to play, or are you more interested in Battlefield V, Anthem or the other titles announced during EA Play?
