Elon Musk Horse Memes Trend as Social Media Savages Twitter's Future Owner

Twitter users wasted no time Thursday laying into billionaire Elon Musk and making memes ridiculing the SpaceX owner following a report revealing he allegedly offered a horse to a flight attendant after propositioning the woman for sexual favors during a flight to London.

Insider reported the allegations Thursday, saying the aerospace company SpaceX paid $250,000 to settle a sexual misconduct allegation from a flight attendant on his private jet in 2016. The report comes as Musk, the head of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla, is finalizing a deal to purchase social media platform Twitter.

Telling Insider there is "a lot more to this story," Musk denied the allegations, calling it a "politically motivated hit piece."

Newsweek reached out to Musk, SpaceX and Twitter for comment.

"Why'd you have to drag me into this, Elooooooooooooon?" user Richard Keppler posted, accompanied by a photo of Musk and 1960s TV sitcom horse Mister Ed.

"When you're the richest man in the world and your pickup method is whipping out your penis and offering a woman a horse," another wrote, offering full disclosure the image was not their own "but it's so good lol."

One meme speculated Musk won't have such a great day on Friday.

"Elon's going to have a burr in his saddle tomorrow," they wrote.

Some were using the hashtag #ElonHorse.

"If I were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light," Musk reportedly told Insider.

Others on Twitter defended Musk.

"I see Democrats have started their lies to destroy Elon Musk for the crime of wanting free speech," Twitter user thebradfordfile wrote.

"They are doing this now?" Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe tweeted. "Next will be claims of racism."

The horse allegation also led to plenty of comments from users.

"Can't stop thinking about how Elon Musk offered the woman a horse. That is the most rich person thing I have ever heard in my life," Twitter user Cowboy Cat wrote. "Does he understand the financial requirements that a horse requires."

"'Free speech' costs $250,000 and a pony," another user said in response.

Musk took to Twitter late Thursday to reiterate he believes the report is politically motivated.

"The attacks against me should be viewed through a political lens – this is their standard (despicable) playbook – but nothing will deter me from fighting for a good future and your right to free speech," he said.
