Bad Bunny is the talk of the town right now. Fresh off an emotional and politically charged Grammys speech and with his upcoming Super Bowl half time show on the horizon, the global superstar has dominated headlines for weeks. But while his music and activism remain front and center, some pop culture obsessives are turning their attention elsewhere—specifically, to his love life.
The Latin star, 31, took home Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, and his acceptance speech immediately sparked widespread discussion online.
"Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say: ICE OUT," he said, referencing the ongoing anti-ICE protests across the country.

"We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans," he added.

In the days since, internet sleuths and celebrity-watchers alike have shifted focus to Bad Bunny’s dating history, with many declaring that he has officially survived—and even conquered—the so-called Kardashian curse.
The singer was linked to Kendall Jenner, 30, throughout much of 2023, with the pair first spotted together early that year before quietly going their separate ways toward the end of it. Newsweek reached out to Kendall Jenner's publicist for comment via email.
The “Kardashian curse” is a long-running internet conspiracy theory that suggests men who become romantically involved with members of the Kardashian-Jenner family inevitably suffer career declines or personal downfalls.
Over the years, fans have pointed to a string of high-profile relationships to support the narrative, arguing that professional struggles often follow romantic ties to the famous family.
Khloé Kardashian’s ex-husband Lamar Odom saw his NBA career falter and later survived a near-fatal overdose. Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries was followed by a sharp drop in his public popularity.
Kourtney Kardashian’s longtime partner Scott Disick has spoken openly about addiction struggles and multiple stints in rehab. Tristan Thompson’s basketball career has been repeatedly overshadowed by cheating scandals, while Kanye West’s public mental health struggles and controversies are frequently cited by those who believe in the curse.
Kim Kardashian, 45, previously called out the sexism behind the theory.
“I always really hated that, I really did. I think it's really unfair to say that women are the problem when it comes to issues that our exes might be dealing with and that they had those issues before," Kim Kardashian said in her Call Her Daddy interview in 2025.
More recently, however, fans have begun to argue that the spell has been broken—with Bad Bunny’s Grammy triumph held up as the latest proof.

"He didn’t just survive the curse, he slayed the Grammys," said Floyd Dixon, alongside a montage of the former couple. The post racked up 1.9 million views on Threads.
"I love that it was Bad Bunny who broke the Kardashian curse. One thing you’re not gonna do, and that’s curse a Boricua. Pa’ la botánica nos vamos! Between the agua Florida, the candles, and our Abuela’s prayers, that curse gets broken quick fast," shared Issa.
"He rebuked the Kardashian curse and made all his dreams come true. So happy for him!" said Lava Livingstone (@divasdelite).
Another nod towards the broken curse is Timothée Chalamet's meteoric rise, the 30-year-old who is with Kylie Jenner, 28, recently won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme.
The Kardashian-Jenner dynasty itself is made up of Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, who are the daughters of the late lawyer Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner, while Kendall and Kylie Jenner are Kris’s younger children with former Olympic athlete Caitlyn Jenner.
Despite the criticism, Kendall herself has recently embraced the joke in the lead up to the Super Bowl this Sunday. The model has been romantically linked to several professional basketball players over the years, including Devin Booker, Kyle Kuzma, Blake Griffin, D'Angelo Russell, Chandler Parsons, Jordan Clarkson, and Ben Simmons.
In the Fanatics Sportsbook ad, she says: “Haven’t you heard? The internet says I’m cursed. Any basketball player who dates me kinda hits a rough patch.”
The advert shows Jenner swanning around a lavish villa in a glamorous white dress, explaining how she can afford the lifestyle —by betting against the supposed misfortune of her former partners. It ends with Kendall boarding a private jet to San Francisco for the game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.
