Dick Van Dyke, 98, was "saved" by his neighbors while attempting to flee Malibu in the wake of the wildfires that are ravaging the star-studded California cliffs.

"It was coming from the hill, you could see it," the Dick Van Dyke Show alum said in an interview that aired on the Today show on Thursday, December 12. "And oh my God, and we got out of here. I was trying to crawl to the car, I had exhausted myself, I couldn't get up."

What happened next, he said, was that "three neighbors came and carried me out and came back and put out a little fire in the guest house and saved me."

The interview was a follow-up to the Mary Poppins star's Facebook post one day prior.

"Arlene and I have safely evacuated," Van Dyke shared on Wednesday December 11, referencing wife Arlene Silver.

Though the couple — who have been married for 12 years — were safe, they were greatly worried about their orange cat, Bobo, who "escaped as we were leaving," the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star explained."We're praying he'll be okay and that our community in Serra Retreat will survive these terrible fires."

Fortunately for Van Dyke and Silver — and Bobo, of course — the feline was safe.

"We found Bobo as soon as we arrived back home this morning," the six-time Emmy winner shared in a Facebook update on Thursday, noting: "There was so much interest in his disappearance that Animal Control was called in to assist. But, thankfully he was easy to find and not harmed."

It may have been a hectic week for Van Dyke — who also recently went viral for dancing in Coldplay's latest music video, "All My Love" — but he'll get a chance to celebrate, too, when he turns 99 on Friday, December 13.

The Night at the Museum star, who has clearly still retained his sense of humor, joked about his age during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

"I'm old enough to be Joe Biden's father," Van Dyke quipped of the 82-year-old president. (The actor was 16 years old the year Biden was born.)

While the Bye, Bye Birdie star admitted that he does experience dementia from time to time, he couldn't help but make a joke about that, too.

"Like, right now, I think I'm on the Jimmy Kimmel Show," he laughed.
