After months of anticipation, a new teaser for the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch is finally here.
And fans are going wild — despite the teaser not showing much of the actual movie.
The original trailer from six months ago showed little Lilo, played by 8-year-old Maia Kealoha. But the more recent teasers feature only the new CGI version of Stitch — mid-shenanigan of course — but not as much as a glimpse of any of the other people characters, who include Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance, and Tia Carrere.

So far, the slow build-up is working.
"Whoever I see the live action lilo and stitch movie with needs to know that I will be crying every time stitch comes into frame," said one fan on X (formerly Twitter).
"I've loved lilo and stitch since I was a kid," agreed another. "Am so excited for the live action."
The first teasers, which came out November 25, 2024 and December 18, 2024, were parodies of the trailer of the original 2002 animated film and The Lion King, respectively. The most recent debuted during Super Bowl LIX, on Sunday, February 9. It showed Stitch interrupting a fictional Super Bowl match-up. None include any clips of the actual movie, which hits theaters May 23, 2025.
Not that anyone seemed to mind.
"LMAO THE LILO & STITCH AD IS GOLD," raved one X user. Added another, "Lilo and Stitch already won the superbowl." "This was the best trailer for a Superbowl literally in the history of ever," said a third.
Pleakley, an alien who will be played by Billy Magnussen, and the mad scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba, portrayed by Galifianakis, are the most anticipated reveals.
What fans do know so far: Chris Sanders, the creator of Lilo & Stitch, is returning as the beloved voice of Stitch. Carrere, who was the original voice of Lilo's sister Nani, will play a different character in the movie. And the film, while a remake of the original story, will clock in at more than two and a half hours, more than an hour longer than the animated version.
