There's a fine line between being fashionably late and awkwardly early. Selena Gomez recently admitted that when she and fiancé Benny Blanco showed up to Taylor Swift's party, they landed on the wrong side of that line — arriving way too soon.
On Wednesday, March 19, the lovebirds appeared on Spotify's Countdown To to discuss their upcoming album I Said I Love You First. While reminiscing about their relationship, Blanco, 37, asked, "What was our first party we ever went to?"

"I don't know if this was the first, but it was actually really funny," the 32-year-old former Disney star replied. "As a couple, we went to Taylor's party after some awards show."
Although it was "kind of cute," the timing of their entrance made Gomez cringe. "I was mortified," the "Lose You to Love Me" singer said. "Apparently cool people don't show up to parties on time."
Blanco couldn't help but tease his fiancée. "We're the first people at every single party when I go with you. You like, show up when, like, my mother shows up to a party," he joked.
Swift, 35, and the Wizards of Waverly Place alum have been close friends since 2008, when they were both dating Jonas brothers — the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker with Joe Jonas, Gomez with Nick Jonas.
"We clicked instantly and, man, that was my girl," Gomez told WSJ. Magazine in 2020. Swift felt the same way. "There has always been this quality of sisterhood, and I don't say that in a basic way," the Eras Tour headliner said. "I knew from when I met her I would always have her back. In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don't know if I can forgive someone who hurts her."
Since then, the pop superstar has been one of Gomez's biggest supporters, even celebrating her engagement to Blanco in December 2024.
"Yes I will be the flower girl," Swift, who has been dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce since summer 2023, commented on Gomez's Instagram post at the time.
