Racing game fans know that Gran Turismo is near the very top of the ladder in the genre, with the nearly 30-year-old series largely recognised as one of the most accurate driving experiences in video games. The latest game in the series launched back in 2022, and now players on PS4 and PS5 will be able to try it out for free.
Sony has announced on the PlayStation Blog that My First Gran Turismo will be released later this week, on December 6, 2024 at midnight local time. The game will be entirely free-to-play for players on both PS4 and PS5, and is intended to ease players into the series by providing a few different stages for players to cut their teeth on before moving on to Gran Turismo proper.

My First Gran Turismo is based on Gran Turismo 7, the latest and greatest game in the series, and includes three Race Events, three Time Trials, and three Music Rally stages, along with "a full suite of License Tests." There are 18 unique cars to drive, from a wide range of vehicle types, so players can get a taste for just about everything the series has to offer.
The PS5 version of the game also offers full PSVR2 support, so those with the expensive accessory can get the most out of the game — or just try it out in VR before pulling the trigger on the full experience. Once you've completed all the content on offer, you can pick up the full game, which is currently on sale in the 30th Anniversary PlayStation Store sale.
