A Gen Alpha girl has left internet users in stitches with a hilarious text she sent to her mom about NSYNC star Lance Bass.
Threads user Sarah Pounds (@sarahjanepounds) shared that her daughter sent her an image of Bass because she thought one of her friends resembled him. The post quickly went viral, garnering over 716,000 views.
"My Gen Alpha daughter sent me this and I don’t know how to reply," Pounds wrote. The text message included an image of Bass, accompanied by the note: "(His name is Lance Bass, he helped with *NSYNC)."

For context, Bass is a singer and actor best known as a member of the boy band NSYNC, one of the most-popular pop acts of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group, which also included Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick, produced hit songs such as "Bye Bye Bye" and "It’s Gonna Be Me."
Social-media users were quick to share their amusement, and Bass himself responded to the post.
"Some people were born to be helpers! Glad I could lend a hand. (This is the best comment section of the day!)" he wrote.
Users flooded the comments with their own jokes about the interaction.
"He "helped." Did Justin write this?" posted Christine Carlisle.

"There’s mansplaining and then there’s teensplaining," added Emma.
"This is Geri Halliwell-Horner, she helped with the Spice Girls," commented Scott.
Other parents shared similar experiences with their children’s attempts to "introduce" them to music or pop culture.
"My 14 year old son wanted to play a song he recently discovered and introduce it to me…not it being Eminem 'Lose Yourself' when I started rapping right along, he lost his damn mind," shared Abigail.
"My child tried to introduce me ti an artist he wanted to see in concert. He very gently explained that it wasn't music I listened to, and this artist is deep and so cool so I definitely wouldn't know who it was…it was 50 f***** cent! He tried to introduce his millennial mother to 50 cent!!" shared another mom.
"Has she heard of Michael Jackson. He helped with the Jacksons," joked Eri.
"This reminds me of when I taught high school and one of my students told me there was a new movie on Netflix that I might like. Readers, that movie was ‘Grease.’" added another commentator.
