Lily Rose-Depp's audition for Nosferatu has appeared on social media, and fans are impressed by the talent on display.

The actress, who stars as Ellen Hutter in director Robert Eggers' reimagining of the 1922 silent horror classic, recorded her audition before sending it in to casting agents. Part of this recording has surfaced on Twitter, as posted by Cinema Burst.

In the tape, Rose-Depp reads a portion of the script, displaying a wide range of emotions as she veers from anguished sobbing to outright rage. "He told me how you sold me to him for gold," she says, her voice quivering.

It's not the full audition, however, but a clip that seems to be part of a longer, behind-the-scenes making-of. In it, we can hear Eggers' voice describing his reaction to Rose-Depp, saying, "Her audition was so raw, and so intense."

Rose-Depp has earned massive acclaim for her role in the film, and has been mentioned in Oscar talks. "Lily-Rose Depp is the dark heart of Robert Eggers's extraordinary vampire tale," writes The Guardian in its review, while The Independent writes "A magnificent Lily-Rose Depp is the convulsing, hysteric target of Bill Skarsgård's vampire, in this star-studded adaptation co-starring Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe."

Social media users are equally impressed, with many expressing their admiration for the audition - especially since it was performed seemingly in the stilted confines of a home rather than an expensive film set or on-location.
