Amber Midthunder may say she knows nothing about "Prey 2," but according to The Hollywood Reporter, her face could be telling a different story. Speaking about her recent appearances in "Novocaine" and "Opus," Midthunder was asked how she responds when people ask her about the secret "Predator" movie Dan Trachtenberg made that's supposed to release this year.

THR writes that she "flashes a cheeky smile and feigns ignorance" when she says, "What are you even talking about?"

Midthunder was less mysterious when asked how willing she would be to reprise the role of Naru from "Prey": "I would love to play Naru again. I love Dan. I love ['Prey']. I love that world. I would absolutely love to return."

Last October THR spoke to Steve Asbell, 20th Century Studios president, who revealed that "Prey" director Dan Trachtenberg was working on two "Predator" films, both of which were scheduled to be released sometime in 2025. The first was "Predator: Badlands." The second was a secret film which Asbell said the studio had "different plans for." He also said the secret film would be released before "Badlands."

We don't know yet if this secret film is "Prey 2," but the ending of the original film sets up a sequel. After Naru defeats the Predator and returns to her people, we see illustrations of multiple Predator ships heading to Earth.

"Prey" released on Hulu in 2022 and was a streaming hit. Amber Midthunder's Naru is a young Comanche woman trying to prove she's as good a hunter as any of the men in her tribe. Fittingly, she's forced to survive being stalked by one of the greatest hunters in the galaxy.

Midthunder said it was "scary" waiting for the response to "Prey" to come back, but that the overwhelmingly positive reactions were gratifying. "Yeah, it was a great feeling ... The movie still made an impact with Predator fans and the Indigenous community and lots of other people. We worked so hard on it so everyone could feel that, and for people to reflect it back was a feeling I cannot describe."

You can see Amber Midthunder in "Novocaine" and "Opus," both currently in theaters.

"Predator: Badlands," starring Elle Fanning, bows on November 7.
