Sinners reviews are live, and the vampire flick is a hit with critics.

The film, director Ryan Coogler's eighth project with Michael B. Jordan, takes place in the deep south of North America in the 1930s. "Trying to leave their troubled lives behind," reads Warner Bros.' official synopsis, "twin brothers Smoke and Stack (Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back."

Sinners Review Score

Sinners currently has a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after 37 reviews. Critics are calling the film 'thematically rich' and 'rip-roaring fun'. In fact, Sinners is scoring higher than any film in Coogler's back catalogue, including Creed, Black Panther, and Judas and the Black Messiah.

Vanity Fare writes: "Sinners is propulsive and stirring entertainment, messy but always compelling. The film's fascinating array of genres and tropes and ideas swirls together in a way that is, I suppose, singularly American."

IGN writes: "Ryan Coogler enters the horror realm and nails it in Sinners, which drops vampires into a deeply personal, heartfelt, emotional, sexy, and bloody story that'll stick with you. Michael B. Jordan wows in a dual performance as twins Smoke and Stack, and other frequent Coogler collaborators like cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw and costume designer Ruth E. Carter do remarkable work bringing the brothers' world to life."

The Mary Sue writes: "But there is just so much about Sinners that leaves you thinking. It can be viewed as just a new take on folklore but I think that's a disservice to what Coogler's film represents. It is more than just a vampire movie but it is also hard to compound into one review."
