We're just a few days away from the release of Marvel Rivals, NetEase's upcoming Overwatch-like shooter featuring Marvel superheroes. The free-to-play multiplayer game is launching with 33 playable characters, which is already a great value for players, but PlayStation owners can get some extra goodies.
Those subscribed to PS Plus will get a new skin in the game for free, while regular players will also get a special skin to celebrate the game's launch at no extra cost. Both skins are related to Spider-Man variants, which makes sense as the wall-crawler is closely associated with Sony following the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

The first skin PS Plus subscribers will get is the VEN#M suit for Peni Parker, which combines the symbiote with Peni's giant mech suit with an impressive design. Everyone who claims the pack will also receive extra Season Pass tokens to use in the game.
The second skin, available to all PS5 owners, is an exclusive Scarlet Spider skin for Spider-Man. Regular players will be able to buy the Peni Parker VEN#M suit from the store, but the Scarlet Spider skin will be exclusive to PS5 owners.
Sony has also revealed Marvel Rivals' performance and graphical features on the PS5 and PS5 Pro, with owners of both consoles getting solid 60fps and 120fps modes.
PS Plus members can also look forward to free games in December including classics like the Sly Cooper trilogy. PS5 owners can also get limited-time PlayStation 30th anniversary themes with the latest system update, and a new PlayStation store sale celebrating the anniversary has many great deals hiding in plain sight.
Marvel Rivals releases on December 6, 2024, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation Plus is a monthly subscription service available on PS4 and PS5 consoles. Its pricing starts at $9.99/month for the "Essential" tier.
