Is “The Night Agent” Season 4 happening? Netflix has mixed news.

For starters, there's been no official renewal confirmation from the streaming platform, and that's concerning compared to the speed it greenlit Season 3.

In October 2024, Netflix ordered a third season of the popular thriller television series three and a half months before Season 2 even aired.

By comparison, Season 3 premiered on Feb. 19, 2026, but Netflix hasn't said a word of its follow-up. The streamer's silence may be speaking volumes, but fans shouldn't worry just yet.

According to creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan, work on “The Night Agent” Season 4 is already in progress.

“Season 4 is not officially picked up yet, but a while ago, in calendar year 2025, they did quietly pick up a writers room,” Ryan told Deadline.

“We’ve been working for a while on the storyline. We have some scripts, we are breaking stories. I think you know from the tax credit, there’s a date by which you need to be filming by; there’s time for us at the moment.”

That tax credit is key to working out the timeline of “The Night Agent” Season 4. In November, Sony Pictures TV received a $31.6M tax credit to move the show from New York to LA.

The credit comes with a six-month window to start production, meaning the show will need to have commenced filming by May 2026.

Ryan, who also created and executive produced FX’s "The Shield," added “We’re in the story-breaking, script-writing phase, and my guess is, sometime in the next [few weeks, up to a month], they’ll make a decision about officially greenlighting Season 4.”

Will There be a Season 4 of ‘The Night Agent’

Netflix has not officially confirmed “The Night Agent” Season 4. Despite this, production is apparently already underway, with Ryan saying writing began in 2025.

The show remains hugely popular, which ups the chances of a follow-up. The first season occupies a place on Netflix’s top ten list of most popular English series with 98.2 million views its first 91 days. Season 2 accrued 53.2M over 159 days.

‘The Night Agent’ Season 4 Release Date

There is no release date for “The Night Agent” Season 4. However, it is reportedly in production.

That means “The Night Agent” Season 4 could release as early as September 2027.

Does Rose Appear in Season 3 of ‘Night Agent’

No, Rose does not appear in Season 3 of “The Night Agent.” However, she may appear in Season 4.

Compelling evidence for that is its setting, which is reportedly LA. Rose lives in the Bay Area, which isn't far from LA, suggesting she could potentially return.
