Eric Trump Calls Out 'Great Person' Kellyanne Conway's Husband for 'Disrespect,' Gets Buried on Twitter

Social media users have slammed Eric Trump’s lambasting of counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway's husband. On Monday, Donald Trump’s second son publicly admonished attorney George Conway for his criticism of President Donald Trump's administration, which Conway's wife staunchly defends.

George Conway tweeted last Friday: "That the President doesn't necessarily know what he's talking about or isn't necessarily telling the truth obviously has to be the government's position, because, well, facts are facts."

And on Monday, Conway suggested the president was tampering with witnesses in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.

Eric Trump hit back, describing the lawyer's actions as “horrible.”

"Of all the ugliness in politics, the utter disrespect George Conway shows toward his wife, her career, place of work, and everything she has fought SO hard to achieve, might top them all.

"(Kellyanne) is great person and frankly his actions are horrible," he tweeted.

Twitter erupted.

NBC producer Ken Olin tweeted: “You’re a Trump, boy. You cannot criticize another man’s marriage unless you’re preparing to enter a monastery and devote your life to celibacy, meditation, and prayer.”

The author Reza Aslan tweeted: “Wait. Did I miss something? Did George Conway pay money to have sex with a porn star right after his wife gave birth?”

This referred to claims, which the White House denies, made by former Playboy model Karen McDougal and adult film actress Stormy Daniels that they had affairs with Donald Trump in 2006 and 2007, around the time his youngest son Barron was born.

Journalist Kaz Weida tweeted: “I’m still trying to figure out how your wife stomachs lying down next to a man who defrauded a children’s cancer fund out of millions. Every marriage is a mystery."

This refers to a Forbes report in 2017 that $1.2m raised by the Eric Trump Foundation’s annual golf tournament for the St Jude children’s Research Hospital went to the Trump Organization instead and $500,000 of funds raised was redonated to other charities.

Not to be outdone, radio host Joe Walsh wrote: “Has Eric Trump forgotten who his Dad is?”

George Conway’s criticism of Trump has been increasingly at odds with that of his wife.

Last month, he said he no longer felt “comfortable being a Republican anymore,” describing the party as a “something of a personality cult.”

"I'm watching this thing, and it's like the administration is like a s*** show in a dumpster fire," he told the Yahoo News podcast Skullduggery.

As for the president?: “He's just trying to get publicity for himself," he said of Conway.
