Is Etsy Down? Users Report Site Outage, Issues Checking Shops

Shoppers on the website Etsy were reporting issues with the site Tuesday. Etsy is a site for individual sellers, artists, jewelry makers and other people looking to sell their work without the necessity of a physical store or shop.

Information about the apparent outage was on the website Down Detector and users were reporting the issues from about 12 p.m. EST Tuesday. Most of the issues appeared to be coming from the United States.

The Etsy status page said there were issues with the homepage earlier Tuesday but that they had been resolved and all of the other functions were operational as of 12:20 p.m. EST.

Some Etsy users were tweeting about the problems as well to let their customers and followers know that they were having trouble with the website.

Etsy has a support Twitter account for responding to customers and shoppers who use its platform but the account hadn't sent a tweet about the apparent outage by 12:30 p.m. EST Tuesday and was only responding to some users individually.

Etsy did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment.

This is a developing story and more information will be added as it becomes available.
