Everything You Need to Know About 2019 Virgin Bachelor Colton Underwood

Colton Underwood won the hearts of women across America as he competed for the affection of 2018 Bachelorette Becca Kufrin, but showed another side on last summer's Bachelor In Paradise spinoff. After Kufrin broke his heart, Underwood seemed wary about finding love, even with Tia Booth, who idolized him, seemingly in the palm of his hand. At the end of it all, Booth walked away stating she deserved better, and Underwood seemed to have a lot of personal battles to overcome before he'd be ready for love again.

But shortly after Paradise, Underwood was said to be the new Bachelor, and his reinstatement was met with mixed reviews. Whether or not Underwood is ready for love will be revealed Monday night with the premiere of The Bachelor. Viewers will get to meet the ladies competing for his heart, but here's a chance to meet Underwood before the drama starts.

He's A Former NFL Player

Underwood's first job out of college was as a tight end for the Los Angeles Chargers. He played football throughout college at Illinois State, and signed as a free agent in 2014, according to Pro Football Reference. He was signed to the Oakland Raiders as recently as 2016. Underwood is now considered a former player. He retired in 2016 after breaking and pulling his shoulder in his first practice with the Raiders, according to Cheat Sheet.

He Used To Date Olympian Aly Raisman

Before he appeared on The Bachelorette, Underwood dated Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman. It's unclear why the two split, and how Raisman felt about Underwood appearing on the franchise. Underwood and Raisman broke up in late 2016. They began dating in 2015, though their relationship was kept private for nearly half of their commitment, according to Romper.

He Loves Dogs

If you've seen any of the Bachelor promotions this year, chances are you've picked up on Underwood's love of dogs. In a season promotional trailer, he can be seen laying on the floor with nearly a dozen golden retriever puppies. Following Underwood on social media feels the same. Whether he's mentioning dogs in his tweets, or sharing how his followers can adopt a new best friend, he's made it clear he's an advocate for animals and a soft-hearted guy.

If you follow Underwood on Instagram, you'll also see a handful of photos of his two dogs.

He's A Virgin

Underwood has long been vocal about his choice to remain abstinent, but that may change this season. Either way, it seems Underwood won't be revealing if he finds the right woman to cash in his V-card with. Underwood refused to answer any questions about his virginity with TMZ, and has stated in the past he'd like to limit the conversation of his virginity in his Bachelor storyline. That hasn't stopped the show from creating ads based on the concept, including a knock of The 40-Year-Old Virgin promotional poster.
