Fact Check: Did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Deny Claiming Ted Cruz Almost Had Her Murdered?
A tweet by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in reply to Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) from January 28 is coming under scrutiny on social media after users alleged she recently denied what she wrote to him.
The Claim
Right-leaning political activist Jack Posobiec posted a three-part tweet Monday night, saying, "AOC now says she never claimed Ted Cruz almost had her murdered."
The tweets have received more than 47,000 likes.

The Facts
Posobiec's second tweet quotes a post from Ocasio-Cortez from January 28 that was in reply to Cruz after he tweeted that he "fully" agreed with her criticisms of the company Robinhood.
Ocasio-Cortez responded to Cruz's tweet and said, "I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there's common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out. Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren't trying to get me killed. In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign."
The third tweet in Posobiec's viral thread shows a statement Ocasio-Cortez made to the New York Post on Monday regarding Cruz. Posobiec wrote: "Today:" and quotes a tweet from conservative The First TV that shared a New York Post clip of Ocasio-Cortez being asked if she tweeted that Cruz tried to have her murdered during the Capitol riot on January 6.
"Okay, so, that's not the quote and I will not apologize for what I said," Ocasio-Cortez said in response regarding her earlier tweet about Cruz.
Many Twitter users replied to the video clip, saying that it was in fact the quote she used and cited her tweet from January 28.
That is exactly the quote ... verbatim. pic.twitter.com/l1RpJpODQ1

The Ruling
Mostly True.
When the New York Post asked Ocasio-Cortez on Monday if she tweeted that Cruz tried to have her murdered, she said that was not the quote.
She tweeted that he "almost" had her murdered.
However, in the same tweet in reply to Cruz, she also wrote that she would be happy to work with almost any other GOP members that are not trying to get her "killed," implying that Cruz was.
