'Fallout 76' Patch Download Time: 1.0.3 Update Delayed To December 13 On PS4, Xbox One

Fallout 76 had plans to release updates every Tuesday, but this week's update for PS4 and Xbox One has been pushed two extra days to Thursday. According to a Tweet from the official Fallout account, this is due to additional testing, and both the PS4 and Xbox One's slower process for patching games compared to PC.

⚠️We are adjusting our patch schedule for next week’s Fallout 76 update. The update will roll out for PC players on Tuesday and console players on Thursday. This is to allow further testing on consoles, where we can't hotfix unintended issues as quickly as we can on PC.

Fallout 76 Patch Notes Preview

While we don't know what will be included in the full 1.0.3 patch notes just yet, we do have a preview of what to expect. The highlights from this preview include the new bulldozer tool, which allows you to wipe out an area easily to set up your C.A.M.P. and the ability to respec your character at level 50. The early patch notes are as follows:

  • PC Additions: A Push-to-Talk setting for Voice Chat, 21:9 resolution support, and a Field of View setting are all being implemented on PC with this update.
  • SPECIAL Respec: After level 50, you'll be able to choose between a new Perk Card, or moving a SPECIAL point you had previously allocated.
  • C.A.M.P. Placement on Login: Your C.A.M.P. will no longer be automatically blueprinted and stored if someone is occupying your location when you log into a server. Instead, you'll receive a notification that your space is occupied. If you decide to find a new home for your C.A.M.P. on that server, it will be free to do so. However, if you don't attempt to place down your C.A.M.P., you will be able to switch to a new server where that spot is vacant and your C.A.M.P. will be fully assembled and waiting for you.
  • Bulldozer: This is a new C.A.M.P. feature that will allow you to remove small trees, rocks, and other obstructions so it's easier to create and place your C.A.M.P. when and where you want it. You can also "Bulldoze" to clear these items from the surrounding area to make your C.A.M.P. feel more like home!

More updates and changes are expected, including a healthy list of bug fixes and other tweaks. We should also expect a list of known issues, according to a recent apology posted by the developer. The last patch included changes that weren't originally documented, like nerfs to certain resource gathering rates, and Bethesda claims all future patch notes will be more thorough.

As for when you can download the patch, PC players can see all the new changes tomorrow, Dec. 11. As for when specifically, that's up to Bethesda. The company is using its own game launcher, so the update can be pushed out whenever it's ready. I'm guessing it will be posted earlier in the morning. Those on PS4 and Xbox One will have to wait until Dec. 13 for the patch. The 1.0.3 update patch notes should be available tomorrow alongside the PC patch release.

So what do you think? Are you interested in any of the changes we can expect to see in the next Fallout 76 patch? What other features or fixes do you hope get included in tomorrow's update? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
