Family Camping at Arizona Lake Mysteriously Vanishes

A family who left for a week-long camping trip close to Bullhead City in Arizona has not been seen for weeks, police say.

Erika Irene Allison, 36, and Joshua Robert Martinez, 30, had planned to take their 17-year-old son, Psymon J. Kelly, camping for seven to 10 days starting September 11, the Kingman Police Department said in a statement on social media on Thursday.

Police said they believe that the family possibly left in the afternoon to go camping at the Katherine's Landing lakefront resort in the Bullhead City area.

"Erika Allison was driving a four-door grey 2005 Toyota Corolla bearing Arizona wheel chair plate # GAC93. The vehicle was last seen leaving a residence in the 2400 block of Karen Ave. with a king-sized memory foam mattress strapped to the roof," the statement said.

"They also had two dogs with them described as a female miniature pinscher chihuahua mix black and white in color and a large male dog, unknown breed, tan in color," it added.

When the family did not return after 14 days, family members contacted the National Parks Service. National Park Service Park Rangers searched the Katherine's Landing area for the vehicle or missing family, but did not find them.

"Members of their family attempted to locate Allison, Martinez, or Kelly at Katherine's Landing, Princess Cove, areas of Golden Valley, Oatman Rd, and along the Colorado River in the Bullhead City area. Martinez's mother contacted the Kingman Police Department on Monday, September 27 to report Martinez, Allison and Kelly as missing," said the statement.

The police describe Allison as a 5'3" white female, weighing approximately 115 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She recently shaved her head, police said.

Martinez, 30, is described as white male, who's 5'5" and approximately 120-130 pounds, Police said he has brown hair, green eyes, and had also recently shaved his head. Martinez takes medication for a disability, but left it at the residence, police said.

Psymon J. Kelly, 17, is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds. He has blond hair and brown eyes.

Police said it is unknown what clothes the family were last seen wearing.

The Kingman Police Department issued an "Attempt to Locate" to the Mohave County agencies for the missing family or their vehicle. Investigators determined that they left without a cell phone and the three family members were entered as Missing Persons in the National Crime Information Center.

The police department said it is seeking the public's assistance in locating the missing family. Newsweek has contacted Kingsman Police Department for more comment.

The Kingman Police Department has asked anyone who has seen Allison, Martinez, Psymon Kelly, their vehicle or has information of their whereabouts to contact them on 928-753-2191.
