Has Fear The Walking Dead Been Renewed for Season 8?

Fear The Walking Dead fans can rest easy, the horror series will return for Season 8.

At the moment, an official release date has not yet been confirmed, but fans can expect the new season to arrive in late 2022 at the earliest.

The good news doesn't stop there. Kim Dickens will reprise her role as Madison Clark in Season 8 of Fear The Walking Dead.

Dickens, who played the role of ruthless leader of the Dell Diamond Baseball Stadium community, starred in the first four seasons of Fear The Walking Dead. However, fans believed she was dead for the past three seasons.

In a statement, Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe (TWDU) announced: "If there were a Mt. Deadmore, Kim Dickens' face would be on it. Madison Clark is a foundational character to TWDU—heroic, complex, an every person who becomes a warrior and then a force of benevolence.

"Kim Dickens' raw talent, strength, and brilliance will electrify TWDU once more and we couldn't be luckier to have her back."

Dickens also took to Twitter to share the news. Attaching a photo of her smiling in her make-up chair, Dickens wrote: "Been holding this secret for a while now MADISON IS BACK #TalkingDead #FearTWD."

Fans have been replying to Dicken's post ever since, sharing their happiness about her return with many feeling it was wrong her character was "killed" in the first place.

One fan tweeted: "Best news all year! Now let's hope they do Maddison a good service and make her the focus of the show and allow Morgan to take a back seat for a while."

A second fan said: "She was never gone in our hearts....but she's back n I'm thrilled...get this group back together."

A third fan chimed in: "FTWD wasn't the same without you! Can't wait to catch up with the show now."

Regardless of the wait for Season 8, Fear the Walking Dead fans have plenty more FTWD content to come, with Season 7, Part B setting its premiere date as Sunday, April 17, 2022.

Part B will take place seven months after the nuclear blast, with Victor Strand (played by Colman Domingo) the only one to come out on top. In Part B, he is the leader of a fiefdom, where he will have the final say in who lives and who dies.

However, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and her people are determined to take down Strand and make it to Padre, a place that may or may not exist.

The short teaser trailer teases an intense war between Stand and Alicia on the horizon with Victor stating "You have your army. I have mine."

The official synopsis via AMC for Part B teases: "Alicia, now the reluctant leader to Teddy's former followers, is plagued by a mysterious illness and the repercussions of her past actions.

"Morgan, trying to maintain hope that he will be reunited with his family, knows Alicia is key to their survival. With Alicia declaring war, Strand's paranoia and personal vendettas grow, and with that, new threats emerge from all sides."

Fear The Walking Dead Season 7B returns Sunday, April 17 on AMC.
