What Did Fleetwood Mac's Drummer Write to the Viral 'Dreams' Skateboarder?

If you've had the song "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac stuck in your head for the past few weeks, there's a good possibility you have TikTokker Nathan Apodoca and his cranberry juice-fueled skateboarding video to thank for it. Even the band's drummer and founding member Mick Fleetwood weighed in and called the video "inspiring."

In a letter published by TMZ, Fleetwood reached out to Apodoca (whose handle on TikTok is @420doggface208) and congratulated him on his video's success. "Hello there Nathan..." the letter began. "Mick Fleetwood here...."

"What a wild ride you are on," the drummer wrote. "Im [sic] so glad you inspired me to become a part of your fantastic journey! How great it is it that you have brought so many smiles to millions of people in a world just when it is/was needed."

Apodoca was appreciative of Fleetwood's message. "It was cool that he took the time out of his life to sit there and write me a personal letter," Apodoca told Newsweek in an emailed audio message. "It was awesome."

Apodoca went viral with the "morning vibes" TikTok first posted on September 25. The video, showing him skating along to the 1977 Rumours track, has since been viewed over 38.2 million times on TikTok, garnering over 6.7 million likes.

Apodoca's video has inspired a number of imitators and parodies, and even a few celebrities and politicians have delivered their own take on it. Dr. Phil posted his own parody with him driving what seems to be a golf cart through a studio lot, titled "Afternoon vibes." Montana Lt. Governor Mike Cooney also shared his own version of the video on Twitter, titled "montana dreams."

While the inspiration that Fleetwood was referring to in his letter may be unclear, it's very possible that he was referring to the fact that Apodoca's video led to him creating his own TikTok account, recreating the video. "@420doggface208 had it right. Dreams and Cranberry just hits different," Fleetwood wrote in the description for his TikTok, which has garnered 9.7 million views.

Even Ocean Spray celebrated Apodoca's video, sending him a truck loaded with the cran-raspberry juice that he drinks in the video, according to CNN. Ocean Spray CEO Tom Hayes also posted a video of himself imitating Apodoca on TikTok. Apodoca celebrated and thanked Ocean Spray by taping a video of himself lip-syncing along to "Dreams" while in the truck, a bottle of cran-raspberry juice resting between his legs. The truck has since been featured in a number of videos that Apodoca has shared on TikTok.

Newsweek reached out to Fleetwood Mac's management company, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
