Florida Man Loses Temper After Strippers at Club Invited His Wife on Stage, Tried to Take Off Her Clothes

A man in Florida has been arrested for allegedly punching another man in the face as the victim attempted to intervene in an argument the suspect was having with his wife in a strip club parking lot.

Christopher Sutton, 36, of Tampa Bay, has been charged with battery following the incident outside the Woody's club in Islamorada on the evening of July 11.

Officers from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office were called at around 11:53 p.m. following reports of a disturbance outside the venue. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 31-year-old male victim. He told officers that he was walking home from work when he heard a man yelling and swearing at a woman.

According to the affidavit, the victim allegedly heard Sutton shout, "I'm going to f*****g kill you if you get into that car," reports WFTS.

The victim told police he thought he saw Sutton hit the woman and yelled at the pair to "take that somewhere else." Sutton then became irate at the man and allegedly turned and punched him in the face.

The victim suffered a bloody nose and swollen lip as a result of the attack, but refused medical attention, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The woman, later identified as Sutton's wife, was found by officers behind a building near to Woody's. She said the argument between her and the suspect began inside the strip club before continuing into the parking lot while she was trying to go back to a hotel.

Sutton's wife, who has not been identified, told officers the dispute started because Sutton was angry at her after strippers invited her on stage and tried to take her clothes off, according to the Miami Herald.

The wife told police that Sutton did not hit her during the argument. Officers observed the woman and reported that she did not have any physical marks on her.

When Sutton was found nearby, he had had blood stains on his shirt and cuts to his knuckles and fingers. He denied hitting anyone and said his injuries were from when he fell to the ground while going after his wife during the argument.

Sutton was charged with one misdemeanor battery charge and booked into the Monroe County jail. He was released on July 13 after paying a $15,000 bond. He is due to appear be arraigned in court on July 24.
