Florida Man Who Punched Woman in Face Twice and Bit Her Neck Was Angry About Joke She Played on Him, Police Say

A man is accused of assaulting a woman—before his brother threatened to kill her with a gun—because she played a prank on one of them.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said one of the brothers became angry at the woman over the prank, resulting in a physical altercation between the pair at around 12:30 a.m. on June 12 in Bradenton, Florida.

According to the Bradenton Herald, one of the brothers punched the female victim twice in the face before biting her in the neck while she tried to escape.

The other brother, 20-year-old Malkija Underwood, is then accused of going into his room and returning with a loaded gun. He allegedly pointed what the victim described as an assault-style rifle at her and said: "I am going to kill you."

The woman is alleged to have gotten away from Underwood's brother after kicking him in the groin and fleeing.

Destiny Underwood, mother of the two men, denied that Malkija threatened the woman with a real firearm. She claimed that the 20-year-old pointed a pellet gun, which she herself had purchased, at the woman.

Discussing the assault allegations, the mother told the Bradenton Herald: "There were no marks on her, she was not inside my house and if my boys are both over six feet and if you got beat up by those boys, you would know it."

According to Manatee County Sheriff's Office's booking information, Malkija Underwood is five feet seven inches tall.

Both brothers also deny the alleged victim was at their home on the night in question, but one did reportedly send her a text message asking her to come over.

The brother alleged to have assaulted the woman was not charged at the scene, but the state attorney's office is looking into the case for consideration of charges.

Malkija Underwood was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Earlier this month, a Florida woman was accused of squeezing her boyfriend's testicles so hard that he bled.

Katie Lee Pitchford, 21, of Indian Harbour Beach, was charged with domestic battery following an incident at an address on Veronica Court in the early hours of June 4.

Pitchford admitted to police she and her boyfriend did have an argument but it did not turn physical. Deputies at the scene noted in their report that the alleged victim had scratches on the left side of his face and a bruised eye.
