An elderly Florida woman allegedly attacked her 70-year-old boyfriend with a metal detector because she caught him watching pornography.
Jane Galitello, 77, was arrested after deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance call on Sunday evening, the Miami Herald reported.
Her boyfriend, who has not been identified, told sheriff's deputies that Galitello, who is only 5 feet tall, had attacked him.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the man said Galitello had grabbed his arm and scratched him, leaving a half-inch deep cut on his right forearm.
The police report showed the man had bloody scratches on his arm consistent with fingernail marks, the Herald reported.
The man said he also had a bump on his head because Galitello had also attacked him on Friday night, but he did not call authorities until after the latest incident.
He alleged that she had hit him over the head with a metal detector, accusing him of watching pornography.
He said he had been sitting in his recliner in the living watching a movie on Cinemax at around 10 p.m., according to the Times.
Galitello happened to walk into the room as a topless woman appeared on the screen, he later told deputies. He said she had grabbed the metal detector and hit him on the head twice with the disc-shaped tool.
According to the Herald, the sheriff's deputy didn't see a mark from the metal detector on the boyfriend's head, but did see the device propped up against the entertainment unit in the home.
Galitello said she and her boyfriend are in couple's therapy.
She conceded that she may have "accidentally tapped him" with the metal detector but maintained she didn't injure him. The police complaint said she also claimed she was doing "God's work," the Herald reported.
Galitello also accused the man of abusing her in the past, but sheriff's deputies said they didn't see any visible marks or other signs of injury on her, the Times reported.
Galitello, of Port Richey, Florida, was charged with one felony count of battery on a person aged 65 or over, arrest records show. She was released on a $500 bond on Monday.
