Florida Woman Charged With Murder After Zipping Boyfriend Inside Suitcase For Hours

A Florida woman was charged with murder after she zipped her boyfriend inside a suitcase and left him inside for hours, police said.

Sarah Boone, 42, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Jorges Torres Jr., the Orange County Sheriff's Office said. A video posted on Twitter showed Boone being led toward a patrol car by a sheriff's deputy following her arrest on Tuesday.

Deputies responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Frantz Lane in Winter Park, Florida, at around 1 p.m. on Monday, after Boone called 911, according to a police report provided to Newsweek. They found Torres dead near the front door of the residence car a blue suitcase.

The report said Boone told them that she and Torres were playing a game of "hide-n-seek" and she claimed that they had both thought it would be funny if Torres got inside the suitcase. She said they had been drinking alcohol and she went upstairs and passed out in her bed, but woke up to her phone ringing several times at around 11 a.m.

Boone said she went downstairs and couldn't find Torres, and she then realized that he was possibly still inside the suitcase in the living room. She unzipped the suitcase and found him inside, unresponsive and not breathing.

Deputies arrived on scene and Orange County firefighters confirmed Torres was dead at around 1:10 p.m. local time on Monday.

Deputies also noted in an arrest report that Torres had a small laceration to his lip and what appeared to be bruising around his eye. An autopsy will be carried out to confirm his cause of death, according to Fox 35.

A digital forensic investigator with the sheriff's office examined Boone's iPhone, which she handed over to law enforcement, and retrieved two videos.

In the first video, which started recording at 11:12 p.m. local time on Monday, Torres can be heard shouting Boone's name repeatedly.

"For everything you've done to me. F*** you. Stupid," Boone is heard saying while laughing, according to the report.

Torres is heard saying "I can't f***ing breathe, seriously." Boone replies: "Yeah, that's what you do when you choke me."

In the report, deputies said Torres carried on calling out to Boone saying he couldn't breathe. "That's on you. Oh, that's what I feel like when you cheat on me," she replied. "You should probably shut the f*** up."

The second video was captured earlier at 8:20 p.m local time on Monday.

In that clip, Torres is heard yelling out Boone's name and the suitcase is in a different position than in the other video.

After homicide detectives conducted their preliminary investigation, they had probable cause to arrest Boone, the sheriff's office said. Records show she was booked into jail without bond on Tuesday.
