Snake on Florida Driver's Windshield Finds TikTok Fame: 'Can You Just Like Jump Off?'

A Florida resident went viral on TikTok after a snake took a liking to her windshield and she struggled to get it off.

Earlier this month, Abbey Rostron uploaded a series of videos of TikTok showing a small snake that she found on her car that led her to pull over. The first video has received over 4.6 million views.

"I had to pull over because this dude is in my car," she says in the clip. "I don't even know what to do. Dude, please just get off the car. Just jump off. Be a good little snake."

Even though Rostron says the snake is in the car, it appears to be outside the windshield, although she could have been referring to inside the hood. At another point in the first video, she films the snake while driving and takes the car to an Advance Auto Parts for assistance.

In the other clips, she seems a little more distraught. In one video, the snake can be seen slithering on the car's windshield. "This is a little much! Oh my gosh, Florida," she says. "What is this? Indiana Jones?"

In the final video, Rostron shows that the snake has made its way to the driver's side window. After assuring viewers that she's driving safely and not paying much mind, she mentions that she doesn't think that she'll be able to get out of the car. As she sits in a parking space, the snake can be seen sliding towards the rear door and eventually falling off.

Rostron told the local Fox affiliate that she kept losing track of the snake only for it to pop up repeatedly. "I would get out of the car and he would disappear. I would go to the store, come back, get in, drive to the next spot and he would show up again," she said.

While the sudden success of the videos was unexpected, Rostron appears to have a sense of humor about the incident, re-uploading the clips with songs humorously accompanying them, even though she told Fox that she checks her car for snakes more frequently now. One take sets a clip of the slithering snake to Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King," and another shows the snake riding on the windshield to Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again."

Besides going viral, people appeared to take find humor in the snake clips that Rostron uploaded. "Why is he looking at you like he knows you did something you weren't supposed to do," one person wrote. Another person jokingly called the snake a "windshield viper."

Other people also chimed in to inform Rostron that it appeared that the snake was a harmless species. A few people wrote that it was a black racer and non-venomous.

Newsweek attempted to reach out to Rostron via TikTok message and comment.
