'Fortnite' Apples Guide - What They Do & Locations to Find Them

Fortnite update 4.2 has arrived, and one of its surprise new features has Apples scattered around the Battle Royale map. In this quick guide, we'll discuss what they do and tell you where to find them.

As noted in the 4.2 update patch notes, Apples are a new health regen item in Fortnite. When you see one on the ground and consume it, you get five health up to a 100 percent maximum. In other words, they basically heal small wounds from stray bullets or fall damage.

If you're looking for an Apple, you should probably go to places on the map with lots of trees (duh!) Tomato Town, for example, is close to a very large forest. Even Retail Row has its fair share of trees. If you've been playing Battle Royale for a while, you know trees pretty much dot the entire arena.

That being said, it appears Apples only surround certain types of trees. The picture below offers a good example of the various types of foliage you might encounter on the map. If you want an Apple, you need to go to the shorter, bushier trees like the one in the foreground. The tall palms and the weeping willows won't do. It's these specific trees that bear fruit.

When you see an Apple, just pick it up off the ground and eat it. It doesn't look like you get any more Apples from chopping these trees down with your Pickaxe, they just spawn around the trunk.

Fortnite is in early access across PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS. Apples are available on all platforms.

That's all there is to know, but we'll add more Apple-finding tips as they arrive. If you have any to share, post them in the comments section!
