'Fortnite' Season 4: Is LeBron James Getting His Own Skin?

Fortnite is the biggest trend in gaming, and nearly everyone wants a piece of the action. We've seen Drake duo with Ninja and traditional athletes like Karl-Anthony Towns and Montrezl Harrell stream for tens of thousands of fans. There's still one icon in the traditional celebrity sphere holding off on jumping out of the battle bus: LeBron James. We know the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar knows about the game, bwxUAW his son LeBron James Jr. asks him to play on a FaceTime call streamed on Instagram live. "I left the game at home," James said, more dismissive than actually ready to play.

Terms like the "LeBron James of esports" get thrown around a lot, so why not just have the actual guy show up? Nothing would surprise fans more than an actual skin immortalizing James. We know Epic Games is open to including the likenesses of real people in their games; we already have Keanu Reeves as John Wick and my eighth-grade crush as Tomato Face. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to have add a skin of the NBA powerhouse to the game.

Epic Games' Fortnite is currently at the height of its popularity. On Saturday night, Ninja packed out the Esports Arena at the Luxor Casino with fans eager to join his squad. He nearly broke 500,000 concurrents on Twitch, annihilating the viewership of esports giants like the Overwatch League. We have no idea what skins are coming in Season 4 - which starts in just a few weeks - so why not dream big?

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a nondescript basketball player as a skin in the next few months to celebrate all the "celebrities" playing Fortnite around the world. There's no evidence that LeBron James is actually getting a skin, but anything is possible in Fortnite.
