'Fortnite' Season 4 Teaser Suggests Possible Superhero Theme

Fortnite Battle Royale Season 4 is expected to begin around April 30, and Epic Games just tweeted a teaser for the new skins and cosmetics. While its theme hasn't been officially confirmed, there are definitely superhero themes at play in the image.

The source tweet simply says "battle, adapt, win" with the suggestion that "Season 4 [is] coming soon." If the skin in the picture is any indication, however, there are obvious design inspirations from the Flash to be seen. In fact, there are even hints of his lightning bolt insignia in the orange area that stretches diagonally across the picture. The image also tells players to "brace for impact," which might mean the Tilted Towers Meteorite is somehow responsible for bringing these special characters to the Fortnite universe.

The superhero theme makes sense given that Avengers: Infinity War is mere hours away from its theatrical debut. With Marvel hype at an all-time high over the next few weeks, and The Incredibles 2 coming in June, why shouldn't Fortnite join in on the fun? In many ways, bringing superheroes to Fortnite in May effectively combines three massive entertainment trends in a single package.

As fitting as the pairing might be, however, we should reiterate that the superhero theme suggested by this teaser is implied but not officially confirmed. If there's one thing we can say, however, it's that there's absolutely no evidence of the rumored alien theme that fans speculated might follow the impact of the Tilted Towers Meteorite. With space thoroughly explored through the duration of Season 3, it looks like next month's content offers a totally new aesthetic for fans to tinker with.

If the hero theme holds, we expect the Flash won't be the only likeness coming to Fortnite. How cool would it be to squad up dressed like Spider-Man, Iron Man or Thor? Especially if Marvel continues to be the source for inspiration for Season 4, characters like those will definitely find their way into Epic's wacky world.

Fortnite is in early access across PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS. Fortnite Season 4 is expected to begin sometime between April 30 and May 4.
