'Fortnite' SHIELD Chest and Quinjet Locations Week 2 Challenge Guide

Fortnite Season 4 Week 2 Challenges are live, and that means you may be wondering how to open seven SHIELD Chests inside Quinjets. In this guide, we'll explain how Quinjets work in the new Season, so you can get the task done quickly and easily.

Note that, while Quinjets do appear in Team Rumble matches, SHIELD Chests are exclusive to Squads, Duos and Solos queues. If you haven't seen a SHIELD Chest in your travels, that's probably because you're playing the wrong mode. Beyond that prerequisite, let's recap the basics.

The Basics of Quinjets

The challenge description hints that SHIELD Chests are found inside Quinjets. Luckily, these jets are pretty easy to locate. Quinjets take off at the start of a match, and then they always land near the large plumes of purple smoke that look like this:

If that's not enough of an indicator for you, the locations of Quinjets are also marked on the map via these white plane icons.

Before heading straight for one, you should know that Quinjets are almost always surrounded by AI Stark Robots that will shoot at you as you get close. That's precisely why we took the L to capture this image of the outside of a jet.

Searching a SHIELD Chest

Once you've located a Quinjet, the rest is pretty simple. All you've got to do is enter the vehicle through its back hatch and open the large chest inside. This is a SHIELD Chest, and it often contains high-value loot that should be good enough to dispatch the Stark Robots waiting for you outside.

Our best piece of advice is to make a move on the Quinjet at the start of a match to ensure the SHIELD Chest is still available for the taking. Land towards the back of the jet so you can immediately enter, search for the goods, waste some Stark Robots and continue on with the match. This Week 2 Challenge will take multiple matches to complete, so there's no point in trying too hard to get multiple SHIELD Chests at once. It can happen, but it's far less likely the deeper you get into a rotation.
