Fortnite update 8.11 isn't quite as substantial as the patches of past weeks, but the Flint-Knock Pistol does present some interesting gameplay opportunities. In a game with so much verticality and the possibility of fall damage, potential knockback from a gunshot adds an interesting twist. It means that, while this new pistol may look small in stature, it has the potential to make a big splash late in rounds when built towers are at their tallest. A well-placed bullet could send a high-ground favorite crashing down to an untimely demise. In other phases of the game, the buff to Impulse Grenades was a necessary one. We can't wait to see it in action.

Save the World and Creative basically got nothing this week, but, of course, not every Fortnite update can be as substantial as the last. In particular, the bandwidth tweaks to PvE might be more impactful than it appears. With optimization being the big focus this week, we imagine new features will be a priority in the next one.

Fortnite is available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile.
