Fortnite Season 9 is officially here, and it adds just about everything fans were expecting to see. There's a new map with locations like Neo Tilted and Mega Mall, as well as brand-new ways to get around like Slipstreams and Air Vents. While it's a bit surprising Fortnite Season 9 doesn't arrive alongside a new vehicle, it appears Epic's emphasis for the coming weeks will be on actual player movement instead of movement assisted by an item. The most surprising addition to the list, however, is probably the Fortbyte. As if Weekly Challenges weren't enough, these small chips offer players a daily scavenger hunt to unlock new rewards.

On the Save the World Side, the inclusion of Wargames seems like a neat high-level addition for experienced players. In some ways, its concept sounds like a mini-raid. The mode's most interesting feature, though, is its scaling difficulty that increases or decreases based on the number of players involved in the battle. These simulations sound like they'll still be difficult even solo, but at least they've been designed for that type of play. If that's not enough, there's a new Hero to try as well. Fortnite Season 9 could probably use more content overall, but there's still a ton here for players to experience.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile. The 9.0 update is live now.
