Free Comic Book Day 2018: Store Locator and Every Comic Available

Since 2002, the first Saturday of May has been dubbed Free Comic Book Day. As the name implies, this special occasion allows for everyone to experience comic books, whether you’ve never picked one up before or are a regular at your local comic shop.

It’s a celebration of the medium and hobby thousands of people partake in every single day. The day introduces potential new and old readers to a variety of books, publishers, artists, writers, genres and new stores. Free Comic Book Day also allows publishers like DC and Marvel to give readers a glimpse of what’s to come later in the year.

Almost every store that sells comic books participates in Free Comic Book Day. However, if you’re looking for a brand new store to potentially frequent, the official FCBD website has a store locator that will help readers. Simply enter your zip code and the store locator will find participating retailers near you.

Comics on Free Comic Book Day are separated into Gold and Silver tiers. Gold comics are usually from the big publishers and will be the most popular. If you’re looking for those, be prepared to head to your local comic shop early.
