'The French Dispatch' Cast: Every A-List Star Featured in the Wes Anderson Movie Trailer in Pictures

The trailer for the latest Wes Anderson movie The French Dispatch has been released, and film fans all over the world are very excited. Across movies like The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel, the actor has become well-known for all-star casts, and his latest is no exception. The company includes familiar faces from across Anderson's filmography, like Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray, as well as actors new to his world like Timothée Chalamet, Christoph Waltz and Benicio Del Toro.

Saoirse Ronan

The Little Woman star and multiple Oscar nominee is seen in the promo as a femme fatale-style character with very bouffant blonde hair

Bill Murray

The Ghostbusters star, who has worked with Anderson on multiple projects beginning with Rushmore, plays Arthur Howitzer Jr., the formidable editor of the eponymous French Dispatch.

Elisabeth Moss

Playing one of the Dispatch's reporters is The Handmaid's Tale actor and Anderson newbie Elisabeth Moss, seen in the promo next to a blackboard with a sentence structure diagram.

Jason Schwartzman

In his seventh Anderson project (not counting short film Hotel Chevalier), Schwartzman is seen playing the cover designer for the magazine, Hermes Jones.

Tilda Swinton

Per the trailer, the film seems to be split into a series of shorter stories, each of which is recounted by a French Dispatch journalist. The first of these is "The Concrete Masterpiece," as told by Tilda Swinton's (appearing in her fourth Anderson film) character J.K.L. Berensen.

Benicio Del Toro

"The Concrete Masterpiece" tells the story of asylum/prison inmate and artist Moses Rosenthal, as brought to life by Sicario's Benicio Del Toro.

Léa Seydoux

Starring in her second film by the director (though she also starred in one of his Prada adverts) is Léa Seydoux as a guard at Moses' jail who potentially becomes his artistic muse. The French Dispatch is the second of two major films the French actor will be appearing in this year, as she is also due to appear in the Bond movie No Time to Die.

Adrien Brody

For his fourth Anderson picture, The Pianist actor plays an art dealer interested in Moses' work.

Bob Balaban and Henry Winkler

As seen in the trailer, frequent Anderson collaborator Balaban and new recruit Henry Winkler appear in the Swinton segments, though no details of their characters have been revealed.

Frances McDormand

Two-time Oscar winner Frances McDormand is Lucinda Krementz, the writer behind the second segment "Revisions to a Manifesto."

Timothée Chalamet

Playing a character called Zeffirelli, who is a young revolutionary during the 1960s, is Anderson newcomer and Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet.

Lyna Khoudri

One of the lesser-known stars of the movie is Lyna Khoudri, playing the love interest of Chalamet. She has previously had roles in the French series Les Savages and movie The Blessed.

Jeffrey Wright

The third story is "The Private Dining Room of the Police Commissioner," told by Roebuck Wright (Jeffrey Wright of Casino Royale).

Stephen Park

Playing a character punningly called Nescaffier, described by Wright as "the great exemplar of the mode of cuisine known as police cooking," is Stephen Park, previously seen in Warrior, Do the Right Thing and Fargo.

Mathieu Almaric

Another Bond alum appearing in The French Dispatch is Almaric, the star of Quantum of Solace. In this movie he is the victim of a kidnapping plot involving his son.

Willem Dafoe

In his fourth appearance in an Anderson film, The Lighthouse star Willem Dafoe appears as one of the prisoners lucky enough to sample Nescaffier's food.

Edward Norton

Who Fight Club actor Edward Norton is playing in his fourth Anderson film is not known, but in the trailer he is seen in a gendarme uniform firing a gun alongside Saoirse Ronan's character.

Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson is making his eighth appearance in the Anderson filmography as a French Dispatch employee with a jaunty beret and a bicycle.

Among those also starring in the much-hyped film are Cécile De France, Christoph Waltz, Liev Schreiber, Anjelica Huston, Griffin Dunne and Alex Lawther.

The French Dispatch is released in cinemas on July 24.
