'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Cast Reacts to New Trailer

HBO premiered the trailer for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones on Tuesday. Predictably, social media had a meltdown, watching the trailer more than 11 million times and, according to Twitter, posting more than one million tweets about the Season 8 trailer. The Game of Thrones cast got in on the action too, posting their reactions to the world's first sustained look at what's in store when Game of Thrones returns on April 14 for its final six episodes.

Game of Thrones Trailer: The Cast Reacts

Reactions flooded in from Game of Thrones cast members, even ones whose character died. Miltos Yerolemou, who played Arya's first sword trainer Syrio Forel, was killed by Ser Meryn Trant all the way back in Game of Thrones Season 1.

Other Game of Thrones Season 8 cast members also chimed in, including Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Carice Van Houten (Melisandre) and John Bradley (Samwell Tarly):

But by far the best Twitter reaction was by Arya Stark actor Maisie Williams, who deployed some choice words—some strange, some profane—to celebrate the arrival of the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer:

Game of Thrones Trailer: The Most Popular Season 8 Characters

According to Twitter, who released analytics on the Game of Thrones trailer debut, the most mentioned characters from the trailer may not be who you might expect. No, it wasn't Jon Snow, Daenerys, or even Arya—who placed second—topping the list of most mentioned characters on Twitter. Instead, that honor goes to Cersei. Here's full list of five most mentioned characters from public reactions to the trailer drop:

  1. Cersei Lannister
  2. Arya Stark
  3. Sansa Stark
  4. Jon Snow
  5. Daenerys Targaryen

She may be first (or second, should Jon Snow make his claim) in line for the Iron Throne, but it seems Daenerys Targaryen couldn't top Cersei tearfully drinking wine alone—the shot featured right at the heart of the Season 8 trailer.
