'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Teaser Trailer: When Will Finale Episode Get Full Trailer?

Game of Thrones released an official teaser on the show's Twitter account Thursday, but has yet to release a full trailer. The teaser shows an overtaking of ice, doused by movements of fire among the classic map pawn pieces seen in the series opener.

The teaser was 39 seconds long and did not reveal any large clues into Season 8, other than the ice and fire. Some also noted one of the pawns frozen by the ice is a dragon.

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is set to be released in April, which the teaser confirmed. A full trailer can be expected in the new year, though it's unclear exactly when one will be posted. This is the second teaser released to promote the show.

Casey Bloys, HBO programming president, wouldn't be surprised if a trailer was released before the new year, he told Entertainment Weekly in July. He did clarify, though, that he was unsure when the trailer would be released. Trailers for the series are usually released a few months before the series premiere, according to Time.
