George Conway Calls Donald Trump 'Mentally Unstable,' Says He's 'Incompetent' and 'Inept' Narcissist Who Puts His Ego Before National Security

George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and frequent critic of the current administration, slammed Donald Trump as a "incompetent" narcissist who puts himself before the country's national security interests in a series of tweets on Saturday morning.

"Of course, as usual, Trump is incompetent," wrote Conway in a tweet about the president's recent decision to not go forward with planned sanctions against North Korea. On Friday, President Trump had tweeted that "additional large-scale sanctions" against North Korea would be withdrawn. The tweet was thought to be in reference to the treasury's decision to blacklist two China-based companies suspected of illegally trading with North Korea, but White House officials later clarified that Trump was referring to future sanctions.

"His tweet referred to sanctions that had been previously 'announced.' But it turns out, he was referring to sanctions that had yet to be announced. He confused everyone," Conway wrote on Saturday morning.

"Apart from his mental instability, he is simply inept. Stupid," he added in a follow-up tweet.

Conway then started to slam the president for cozying up to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who has a woeful human rights record.

"But the real story here is, again, pathological narcissism. Why did Trump waive the sanctions? Not to further the national interests of the United States — no informed person could think that. No, it's that he 'likes' KJU, says the WH. He 'likes' this butcher," Conway wrote.

In yet another tweet, Conway continued to slam Trump for liking a "man who murders with anti-aircraft batteries, because he writes big beautiful — and most importantly, flattering — letters that play to Trump's ego. Narcissism. Narcissistic whim, trumping the presidential oath, and trumping the national security interests of our country."

The bitter feud between Conway and Trump has made headlines several time this week. Conway, a high-profile conservative lawyer, has not shied away from criticizing Trump even though his wife is a loyal adviser to the president. In fact, this week Kellyanne Conway defended Trump after he attacked her husband.

"George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife's success & angry that I, with her help, didn't give him the job he so desperately wanted," Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. "I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!"

Kellyanne Conway responded to the feud by telling Politico that Trump had originally "left it alone for months" out his respect for her.

"But you think he shouldn't responds when somebody, a non-medical professional accuses him of having a mental disorder? You think he should just take that sitting down?" she asked. "Don't play psychiatrist any more than George should be. You're not a psychiatrist and he's not, respectfully."

In a final tweet on Saturday morning, Conway wrote that: "In our lifetimes there has never been a president who has been so singularly unfit for the presidency, or indeed any public office. That's remarkable enough—but what's even more remarkable is that *almost every day* Trump does something new to drive home the point."
