'Ghost Adventures: Quarantine' — Is Zak Bagans Really Going to Open The Dybbuk Box Tonight?
Zak Bagans is finally going to open the Dybbuk Box, which some believe to be the most haunted object in the world. Bagans is the owner of the legendary cursed object but has yet to open it. This is with good reason, as the box is believed to cause great harm to those who get too close.
Bagans claims he's finally opened the box during filming for Ghost Adventures: Quarantine. He told People paranormal occurrences certainly did come from the action, and luckily for viewers, there are four whole episodes dedicated to this lockdown.
In the miniseries, Bagans and the Ghost Adventures crew locked down in Las Vegas in the Haunted Museum, which is owned by Bagans, during the coronavirus pandemic.
So what, exactly, is the Dybbuk Box? It's a wine cabinet said to hold a dybbuk or malicious spirit. When the box is touched or opened, it can cause extreme troubles for the person invading the box's space. This particular box actually inspired the 2012 horror film The Possession.

Bagans and the museum staff had troubles after the host brought the box home in 2017. "Shortly following its arrival, mysterious protruding holes began to appear in the walls around the artifact as if something was trying to break out from within the exhibit," the Haunted Museum website explains.
This isn't the first time Bagans has nearly opened the box. In 2018, Bagans thought about opening the box during a Halloween special inside the museum. By the end of the live stream, he'd decided not to.
At the time, Bagans had only touched the Dybbuk Box, but even that had consequences.
Afterward, he was overwhelmed by emotions, he told Newsweek in 2018. Bagans was audibly distraught. "If I touch the Dybbuk Box and what happened to me—I don't really want people to see that. Me crying," he explained. "That reaction. That's why—I don't know. This is probably the most challenging, anxiety-driven investigation I've ever done. I can't stop thinking about it."
Media outlets also focused on the fact that Bagans was with musician Post Malone at the time he touched it. Malone touched Bagans, who had touched the box, and was subsequently in a car accident, and, shortly after that, a plane he was in had to make an emergency landing. The world questioned if Post Malone could have been cursed by association, and Bagans didn't deny this.
And what could happen to Bagans after opening the box? It's possible possession is in the cards, or an ongoing series of bad events that plague his life. While there's not too much known about what happens (as you can imagine, not many people open a dybbuk box) it's expected that the box contains negative energies that can immediately affect the bystander's life.
To watch it all unfold, you can tune into Ghost Adventures: Quarantine on Travel Channel Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
