Meet 'The Gilded Age' Cast Led by 'The Good Fight's' Christine Baranski

HBO are heading back in time for historical period drama The Gilded Age, created by Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes.

The show is set in the New York City during the boom years of the 1880s, and it will follow an array of characters from the elite to the working class.

Led by The Good Fight's Christine Baranski, the new drama features an A-list cast.

Here is everything you need to know about the cast of The Gilded Age.

Meet the Cast of 'The Gilded Age'

Baranski takes on the role of Agnes Van Rhijn, a Dutch-American socialite who comes from old money and upholds the elite's past values in the Big Apple.

Cynthia Nixon portrays Agnes' Ada sister who is said to be reliant on her sibling for support. Agnes and Ada are joined by Marian Brook (played by Louisa Jacobson) who is sent to live with them following the death of her father.

Morgan Spector will play robber baron George Russell, while Carrie Coon portrays his wife Bertha and Taissa Farmiga will take on the role of their daughter Gladys.

Denée Benton takes on the role of ambitious writer Peggy Scott and Audra McDonald plays her mother Dorothy, while Blake Ritson will play Agnes' estranged son Oscar.

Elsewhere, Harry Richardson takes on the role of Harvard University graduate Larry Russell, and Thomas Cocquerel plays lawyer and Marian's potential suitor Tom Raikes.

Outside of the high society storyline, Jack Gilpin will play the Russell family's butler Church, and Simon Jones plays Bannister, the Van Rhijns' butler.

As expected of the creator of Downton Abbey, the show also focuses on a number of the high society's staff and Douglas Sills, Taylor Richardson, Kelley Curran, and Ben Ahlers portray members of the Brook and Russell households.

Kelli O'Hara, Donna Murphy. Michael Cerveris, and Debra Monk are among those appearing in guest roles in the show.
