Rudy Giuliani Defends Ukraine Actions, Claims Witnesses Will Say The FBI and DOJ Were 'Being Controlled by Hillary Clinton Partisans'
During a Friday appearance on Fox & Friends, President Donald Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani stood by his actions in Ukraine and said witnesses will say the FBI and Department of Justice were "controlled by Hillary Clinton partisans."
Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade asked the former New York City mayor if Giuliani's investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter in Ukraine hurt Trump.
"I would say the way I approached it is for the benefit of the American people," Giuliani told Fox News. "When the Vice President of the United States corrupts the president of another country, that is about as horrendous a crime as you can find."
Giuliani accused both the FBI and DOJ of being corrupt, when Kilmeade suggested there is an apparatus in place to investigate accusations like those made against the Bidens. "The apparatus to look at this refused to look at it," he said. "The witnesses will tell you they tried to get this information to us for a year."
Giuliani said the U.S. Embassy blocked the witnesses and that a lawyer went to the DOJ to inform about Ukrainian collusion, but "since they didn't know anything about Russian collusion, they were basically thrown out." He also claimed that at least one FBI agent was corrupt. "They didn't trust any longer the FBI or the Justice Department, because they were convinced that they were still being controlled by Hillary Clinton partisans," he said. "Now, these are foreigners, but not a bad conclusion."
Giuliani said that he had to begin this investigation on his own, because no one would've believed him. "I had to go prove it," he said. "Unfortunately, at the highest levels of some of these agencies, they're either corrupted or intimidated." He also said that "Biden should've been prosecuted already for bribery."
The former mayor added that he plans to begin presenting evidence against Biden next week and that he has evidence Biden bribed former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Giuliani also asserted that other Democrats have participated in Ukrainian collusion, which motivates them to impeach Trump. "They had the gall to investigate Trump for two and a half years and $35 million for a phony collusion with Russia, when they were colluding with Ukraine," he said. "They were charging him with the crime they know they committed, and the reason these phonies are crying out this impeachment proceeding is: there's a lot more Democratic collusion in Ukraine than you ever thought. You think it's just Biden who was cashing in on the Ukraine?"
