Live Mouse Leaps from Golden Retriever's Mouth in Shocking Footage

When a dog owner walked in to find her Golden Retriever quietly wagging its tail, she suspected something may have been up.

Footage posted to TikTok on May 30 by Alesha, known online as Aleshaap1, shows the dog excitedly pacing around a kitchen ignoring her owner's advances.

Alesha can be heard asking: "Mazie what do you have? Do you have a mouse? You have a mouse? Can I have that mouse? You took it from the cat!"

As the dog continues to wander about the room Alesha says: "Mazikeen. I know you're very proud. I want to see."

The woman then manages to grasp a hold on the dog's nose and pull open her jaw slightly revealing a terrified mouse hidden between the pet's teeth.

"Oh my god his head is poking [out]," Alesha says. Suddenly the mouse leaps from the dog's mouth to freedom as the owner screams.

The shocking footage is captioned: "We can't find it #goldenretriever #goldenretrieverlife #goldenretrieverpuppy #goldensoftiktok #goldenretrieversoftiktok #goldenretrieversontiktok."

The video has been viewed more than 524,000 times and gained more than 88,000 likes. Many took to the comments section to share their thoughts about the Golden Retriever's actions.

Caroline Ramey wrote: "When they say a retriever has a 'soft mouth' this is what they are talking about."

Another viewer, Coles_corso, added: "Rookie mistake, should have done that outside!"

Alexandria Lucero joked: "He said 'Look at this little guy mom. I saved him from the cat'."

Nothingbutsunshine stated: "Lol the dog's mouth was the jail and the teeth were the bars... ."

MyDogMaggs commented: "OMG! I totally thought you were talking about a mouse toy!"

Kacie, eluding to the fact the dog's name is also that of a demon in the Lucifer comics, asked: "Did you really name a Golden Retriever after a demon?" To this Alesha responded: "Sure did."

Recently, another Golden Retriever entertained the internet with his menacing glare.

In the footage, shared to TikTok on June 23 by Meshally07, the dog is seen sat in the front seat of a silver car looking friendly.

The camera then pans to an older-looking Golden Retriever perched on the back seat whose eyes are narrowed and staring at the camera operator.

Text overlaying the video reads: "The chances of being killed by a Golden Retriever are low.... But not zero."

Newsweek has contacted Alesha for comment.
