This Golden Retriever Refusing to Walk Pretty Much Sums Up How We're All Feeling

A TikTok user named Hilary Sari posted an all too relatable video of a golden retriever who sums up how we all feel while stuck in quarantine.

Get a golden retriever they said 😂

A man out for a walk with his golden retriever tries to convince the dog to come with him, as Natalie Taylor's "Surrender" plays. The pup's owner tries everything from tugging on the leash, to leaving the dog to lifting the dog and placing it on its feet to try to inspire it to follow him home. The user filming the video offers insight to what the dog is probably thinking and asking for everyone to keep the dog in their thoughts and prayers.

"Please pray for this doggo," Sari writes as the video starts. "No nothing wrong with him."

Offering a reason as to why the dog probably just sprawled out on the sidewalk. "He's just sick of quarantine," she wrote. "And probably just wanna stay outside a little longer."

The video has gained over 6 million views on TikTok since it was posted a day ago.

The dog's refusal to move is pretty indicative of how many of us (or just myself) feel during this quarantine whether it's about having to get up for work, making lunch, going to the grocery store, or going outside for exercise. Who wouldn't love to just lay down and refuse to go anywhere?

Commenters on TikTok couldn't help but laugh at the golden retriever's persistence in staying outside. "[H]e just walked away and had to come back," one user wrote. "This reminds me of old school comedy."

Others commented that this was par for the course with golden retrievers and wrote about their own dogs' similar behaviors. "I can relate, I had to carry ours back from the beach a while back," one person wrote.

"Golden retrievers are the absolute most stubborn dogs in the whole world and I have no idea why people are obsessed with them," another person wrote.

On Twitter, people shared similar experiences with their own dogs, who like their humans may just be getting a little fed up with being stuck inside all day long.

I see this outside my house every single day. With multiple people. And multiple dogs. The nonviolent resistance. โœŠ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿถ

Other people wrote that their big dogs refusing to move was a fear, because then they'd be forced to carry them all the way home.

This is my golden retriever $ German Shepard ! Iโ€™m scared to take both on walks alone BECAUSE I canโ€™t carry BOTH.

While it's not revealed how or if the dog ever made it home, everyone stuck inside refusing to move has a new hero to turn to from this adorable TikTok clip.
