Gov. Kristi Noem Slams Podcaster Matt Walsh For 'Horrible Misogyny': 'Eyes up Here'

Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem has hit out at conservative podcast host Matt Walsh over comments she believed showed "horrible misogyny" before telling him, "eyes up here."

The Republican Governor hit out at Walsh in a Wednesday tweet after the Daily Wire host bemoaned her decision not to ban businesses from introducing COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Her position stands her in contrast to fellow Republican governors Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott, both of whom barred business from requiring proof of vaccination from customers, something which annoyed Walsh.

Speaking on his eponymous show on Wednesday, Walsh said: "Kristi Noem is a very attractive woman, so she's got that going for her.

"As far as I can tell, that's the only reason why she was ever looked at as some sort of 2024 potential frontrunner. The hype and everything that she's gotten from conservative media is entirely based on the fact that she's an extremely attractive woman, which she is."

He added: "But you know, you put 50 pounds on her and another 20 years, I don't think she gets any of the hype. Because outside of that, she's just a, just your standard corporatist establishment Republican who's not interested in doing anything."

But, Gov. Noem hit back in a tweet where she said the Daily Wire host made misogynistic comments about her.

Instead of engaging in a debate about the proper role of government and how it isn't conservative to tell people how to do business, @MattWalshBlog
stooped to horrible misogyny.

"Eyes up here, Matt."

Walsh doubled down on his comments in a follow-up tweet, where he said: "I said that Kristi Noem only gets hyped up because she's attractive. Lots of people, including Kristi, were offended by these remarks.

"I've had a chance to reflect on this and after much thought, I just want to say I'm deeply sorry that you're all a bunch of ridiculous, whiney babies."

In a statement sent to Newsweek, Walsh said he stood by his comments and added: "No, I do not regret stating an obvious truth. I will however accept apologies from all of the performative idiots pretending to be offended by it."

Newsweek has contacted Gov. Noem for comment.

Gov. Noem hit out at Walsh after she attacked President Joe Biden on Monday after he urged businesses to require their employees to get vaccinated.

He made the plea after the announcement from the Food and Drug Administration that the Pfizer COVID-19 shot had been given full approval from the agency.

Responding to Biden's plea, Noem, tweeted: "If @joebiden illegally mandates vaccines, I will take every action available under the law to protect South Dakotans from federal government."
