'GTA Online' Weekly Update: Motor Wars Rewarding Double GTA$, RP This Week

Red Dead Online is still in beta, which means Rockstar is devoting most of its attention to its latest online offering. That means there isn't much going on in the world of GTA Online right now, and there likely will not be any major new additions for a while. That said, this week's update includes different ways to earn double the GTA$ and RP rewards, and includes a new line-up of sale items.

Motor Wars is the highlighted game mode of the week for GTA Online Rockstar

To make the most of your week in GTA Online, you'll want to focus on the Motor Wars game mode. Motor Wars is rewarding players with double the GTA$ and RP rewards through Dec. 10. The mode pits two teams against each other in a race to obtain vehicles mounted with heavy weapons. Victory comes to the team who destroys its opponent first.

There aren't many items on sale, but there's a decent variety of options if you're looking to save some cash this week. Items on sale include properties, high-end cars and air transportation options. The following items are all on sale through Dec. 10:

  • High-end Apartments - 35 percent off
  • Stilt Houses - 35 percent off
  • Coil Rocket Voltic – 35 percent off (Buy It Now and Trade Prices)
  • Vapid FMJ – 30 percent off
  • Progen GP1 – 30 percent off
  • Pegassi Osiris – 30 percent off
  • Pegassi Reaper – 30 percent off
  • Cheval Taipan – 30 percent off
  • Annis Elegy Retro Custom – 30 percent off
  • Vapid Dominator GTX – 30 percent off
  • Vapid Festival Bus – 25 percent off (Buy It Now and Trade Prices)
  • Enus Stafford – 25 percent off
  • Buckingham Luxor – 35 percent off
  • Savage – 35 percent off
  • Blimp – 25 percent off

You may be thinking,"This feels a little like some slim pickings. Will GTA Online ever go back to what it was like a few months ago?" We don't know for sure, but I don't see the mode ever running on all cylinders again. Once Red Dead Online leaves its beta, I can see a few more small updates to GTA Online, including new vehicles and maybe a new game mode or two. I doubt there will be any major expansions like a new Heist in the near future.

So what do you think? Are you ready to tackle the Motor Wars game mode to make the most of this week in GTA Online? Do you hope new content for GTA Online is announced soon? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
