Watch ‘Handmaid's Tale’ Season 2 Online: When And How To Stream

Hulu’s Golden Globe award-winning series The Handmaid’s Tale is back after its cliffhanger ending in July. Season 2 promises more heart-wrenching moments as stars like Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella and Joseph Fiennes reprise their roles in Gilead’s dystopian future.

How to watch

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 2 premiere airs Wednesday on Hulu. The show can be viewed online by anyone who has a Hulu subscription. Simply log into your account to watch live.

There’s good news for anyone who doesn’t have a Hulu subscription yet. Other than borrowing a friend’s password and login, which is surely frowned upon by Hulu, the streaming service offers one month free for eligible subscribers. The cost is $7.99 per month. There are some commercials, but there are plans that have no ads for an additional cost.

What to know

Episode 1, titled “June,” refers to Moss’s character by her Gilead name in the description. “Offred reckons with the consequences of a dangerous decision while haunted by memories from her past and the violent beginnings of Gilead,” the Internet Movie Database description says.

The series ended with June Osbourne (Moss) being taken away in a van. “Is this what freedom looks like? What will happen when I get out? There probably is no out. Gilead is within you,” she says in the Season 2 trailer.

The trailer also hints about the Waterfords fighting over June. “We can’t explain this away. They will say we’re part of the resistance,” Serena Joy (Strahovski) tells her husband, Fred (Fiennes).

“If you would have shown that girl one ounce of kindness she would never have left,” Fred says, hinting that June leaves their home.

Also returning for Season 2, based off the trailer, is Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd). “You will love the Lord thy God with all your heart or you will feel the pain of his judgment for that is His love,” she says in an ominous warning.

Tune in Wednesday to find out what happens to June and the rest of the handmaids.
