Alajuelense and LAFC have met twice before, in the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League, with LAFC winning the first leg 3-0 on the road, and Alajuelense pulling off a 2-1 upset in LA. Alajuelense plays domestically in the Liga FPD, which is the highest level of football in Costa Rica. They are currently on a two-match winning streak there, having defeated AD San Carlos 2-0 and Cartagines 2-0. Alajuelense was a pre-seeded team, meaning they did not have to compete in Round One.
LAFC enters this matchup on a great run, having won five consecutive matches this year, with four consecutive shutout victories. In Round One of the CONCACAF Champions Cup, LAFC defeated Real Espana 6-1 and then 1-0 to move on to the next round. In domestic play, LAFC sits 3-0-0, defeating Inter Miami, Houston Dynamo, and FC Dallas all within a three-week period.
This is a great CONCACAF Champions Cup matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
