Hyundai is beefing up the looks of its hot-selling Santa Fe compact SUV with a new appearance-centric trim level. The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT blends traditional Santa Fe styling with dark appearance elements and exclusive wheels.

The current, third-generation Santa Fe debuted on the market 2018 as a 2019 model, refocusing the nameplate as a budget-friendly and well-appointed two-row SUV. The crossover underwent a makeover last year gaining a new platform, fresh fascia and features and new powertrain options. It is currently one of the best-selling models in the U.S.

Hyundai will sell the 2022 Santa Fe in five trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited and Calligraphy. The Santa Fe XRT builds on the Santa Fe SEL's offerings when equipped with the Convenience Package. It is only available with either the model's standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, 2.5-liter turbo-four or the available turbocharged1.6-liter four-banger.

The Santa Fe XRT will be sold with standard front-wheel drive and be available with all-wheel drive.

The 2022 Santa Fe XRT gets front and rear black cladding; a matte black grille; and black mirror covers, roof side rails and cross rails. XRT-exclusive black door side moldings, side steps, and 18-inch dark alloy wheels complete the package.

Among its long list of standard features carried over from the Santa Fe SEL are LED headlights, high beam assist technology, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, 8-inch infotainment touch screen, keyless entry, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A number of safety and driver assist features are also included like lane-keeping assist, driver attention warning, blind spot alert and collision avoidance assist, and safe exit assist.
