'I Am Sure Trump Is Going to Get Wind of This': Twitter Bans Laura Loomer, a Far-Right Activist

An investigative journalist known for her tenacity aimed at left-wing liberals has been banned from Twitter, per a report Wednesday. Laura Loomer, the center point of Illumiate Media, told The Daily Beast she was kicked off Twitter for recent comments about newly-elected U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the first Muslim woman elected to Congress.

"This is not going to be the end of Laura Loomer," Loomer told The Daily Beast.

Loomer said she was banned from the popular social medium for tweeting Omar was "anti-Jewish."

"Isn't it ironic how the twitter moment used to celebrate 'women, LGBTQ, and minorities' is a picture of Ilhan Omar?" Loomer tweeted. "Ilhan is pro Sharia Ilhan is pro-FGM Under Sharia, homosexuals are oppressed & killed. Women are abused & forced to wear the hijab. Ilhan is anti Jewish."

Loomer had more than a quarter million followers on Twitter, and she was known for her digital attacks on Muslims. After a series of jabs aimed at Muslim drivers for Uber and Lyft in 2017, the two passenger carriers banned Loomer as well.

Loomer has made a name for herself by shouting at prominent Democrats in something she calls "Loomering." She calls herself a "martyr" for right-wing issues, even going as far to say President Donald Trump and his supporters will soon take notice.

"I am sure Trump is going to get wind of this," Loomer told the Daily Beast.

Pour one out for human tiki torch Laura Loomer, who was punted from Twitter today. I'll miss her wit and wisdom. pic.twitter.com/UjTbm7FBgE

I strongly dislike Laura Loomer. She even has me blocked. But, she should not be suspended for what she tweeted. Twitter is slowly banning right wingers. It started at the fringes and is now creeping to the center-right. pic.twitter.com/ZI49Q2R8Tp
